The Art of Community

Mark Holley and Bob Machado (our current Senior Partner) created ARCHITECHNICA in October 1979.

After a challenging few years, the two Partners found their niche; K-12 Public Schools and they developed a successful practice designing schools primarily in the Central Valley.

In August 2019, Mark sold his portion of the firm to current Managing Partner, Tim Dearborn and retired from the firm.

Eventhough Mark had retired, he maintained his Architect's License and dabbled on projects for family and friends.

 

In a Facebook post not long after Mark passed, Tim wrote, "Sad to learn of the passing of my former boss and mentor, Mark Holley. Over the many years that I worked for Mark, I learned a great deal about architecture and how to run and how not to run an architecture firm. He was always the smartest and biggest architect in the room. We enjoyed debating on architecture, politics, and history over a glass of wine or beer. The last time that I saw Mark was in November when we were celebrating the life of Bird.

I'm hopeful that Mark and Bird are enjoying a glass of wine on their back porch in Heaven."
